Cllr Claire Harris has been selected to stand as Candidate for Markfield, Desford and Thornton Division in the upcoming County Council Elections in May 2025
Claire who is the District Councillor for Markfield, will be standing as a Candidate for election in the division due to Peter Bedford MP not seeking re-election as a County Councillor in May 2025.
Peter Bedford MP was successfully elected in June 2024 as your MP in our new Constituency of Mid Leicestershire and we thank him for all his hard work for residents in his County Councillor role since 2021.

I am really pleased to have been selected to stand as a Candidate for the Markfield, Desford and Thornton Division. I love this area and have been your District Councillor in Markfield since 2023 as well as being a local Parish Councillor.
During that time, I have built close working relationships with colleagues like Cllr Peter Bedford MP and Dr Luke Evans MP, as well as other organisations to achieve results for residents.
With the experience I have gained during the past years, I will ensure residents voices continue to be heard and listened to.
I look forward to working hard for residents in our community and to continue Peter's good work for residents at County Hall.
