We did it. Peter Bedford MP has been elected as Mid Leicestershire's first MP.
After 10 months of intense campaigning, in the early hours of Friday 5th July 2024, our team of campaigners heard the news that Peter had beaten his opponents with a 2,201 majority. They had successfully helped to get Peter Bedford elected to be the first-ever MP of the newly created Mid Leicestershire Constituency.
During that time, our campaigners have delivered thousands of leaflets, knocked on doors and spoken to residents in all weathers. Nothing could seem to stop them from spreading the word that with Peter being a County Councillor for the past seven years, he was the most experienced candidate for the role.
Peter's residents in his County Council area were well aware that he listens and acts for his residents, treating them as he would want to be treated.
Before election day, Peter was getting emails, thanking him for getting out meeting and listening to them. He was also getting stopped in the streets wishing him all the very best. Peter is now getting numerous emails congratulating him on his success.
All of us here at Mid Leicestershire Conservatives, wish him well in his new role. We are confident that he will serve all of our residents well.
