Richard is our Deputy Chair Membership and Finance Officer since our formation in October 2023

During the 1970s and 80s Professor, Dr. Richard Henry Weston worked as an Assistant Experimental Officer in the UK Scientific Civil Service and in his personal studies he gained a first class honours degree in Electronics and a PhD in Artificial Intelligence. 

He is now a Professor with a Personal Chair, and an international reputation in the Engineering of Business and Manufacturing Systems. In the late 1990s, for five years, Richard was the Pro Vice Chancellor, responsible for Research Strategy, at Loughborough University, following which the Universities UK Research Ranking moved from the mid twenties to the top five in the UK Universities. 

Since his part time retirement he has continued to provide Business Consultancy advice for Manufacturing Businesses.

Richard spends his spare time on the golf course and likes to keep fit.
